Privacy notice

For adventurers

We keep your grown-up's email so they can log in. We keep the name you chose and how far you have got in the game, so you can carry on next time. We do not ask where you live or when your birthday is. If you ever want to stop, tell your grown-up, and they can ask us to show or delete everything we keep about you, any time.

Who we are

Adventure Mathster is operated by More Good Things Ltd, whose postal address (a PO Box) will be published here shortly. We decide how and why your and your child's information is used, so we are the data controller. You can reach us at info@moregoodthings.co.uk. We are not required to appoint a data protection officer and have not done so; please raise any privacy question at that address. We operate in the United Kingdom only and do not require a UK or EU representative.

Who this notice is for

It explains how we handle information about you, the parent or guardian, and about the child who plays through your account.

What we collect

Your email address and password. For each child profile: the display name you choose, the character details the child picks (gender, class, avatar and character name), and the child's progress in the game (health, gold, potions, cleared rooms and items). We do not collect a child's date of birth, school, location, or a record of individual answers.

Why we use it, and our lawful basis

We use your email and password to create your account and sign you in on the basis of our contract with you to provide the service. We use the child profile and progress to run the game and let your child resume where they left off on the basis of your consent as the parent. We collect that consent from you as the parent before any child profile is created. We do not use the information for advertising, profiling or any automated decision about your child.

Who we share it with

We use Lovable Cloud, which provides our database, accounts and sign-in and is built on Supabase, to store accounts and profiles, and Lovable's own hosting network to deliver our pages. We do not use analytics. Fonts are served by our own site, and error diagnostics are switched off on the live site, so no other third party receives information about you. Lovable acts on our instructions as our processor. We do not sell your or your child's information and do not share it with anyone else except where the law requires it.

Where your data is held

Your and your child's data is stored in the European Economic Area; our database is in Paris, France. Our pages are delivered through Lovable's own hosting network, served over HTTPS. We do not transfer your or your child's data outside the UK or the EEA.

How long we keep it

We keep your account and your child's profiles for as long as your account is active. After 18 months without a sign-in, we send a reminder and allow at least 30 days to sign in before automatic account closure. We do not automatically close an account if its reminder cannot be sent. Signing in again keeps the account active. Automatic closure remains paused until reminder sending and account cleanup have been verified. If you delete a child profile, we remove its data from our live systems straight away. If you close your parent account, we delete the account and every child profile linked to it straight away. Backups expire on the provider's normal backup cycle. You can ask for a copy of the information we hold at any time at info@moregoodthings.co.uk.

Cookies and storage on your device

To run the game we store information on your device, including what is needed to keep you signed in and to save your settings. We do not use cookies for advertising or analytics. Fonts are served by our own site, and error diagnostics are switched off on the live site, so no third party receives information about you through them.

Your rights and your child's rights

You can ask us to show you the information we hold, correct it, delete it, or give you a copy to take elsewhere. You can withdraw your consent at any time, and you can refuse any further collection about your child. To exercise any of these, contact us at info@moregoodthings.co.uk, and we will respond within one month. Parent Home also lets you download your data and delete profiles or your account yourself.

Changes to this notice

If we change how we handle information, we will update this notice and, where the change is significant, tell you directly.

Complaints

If you are unhappy with how we handle your information, please tell us first at info@moregoodthings.co.uk so we can put it right. If you are still unhappy, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk), the UK's data protection regulator.
